Immaculada - Immaculate Conception
The Spanish Christmas season officially starts on the 8th December with the 'Immaculada' - the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
One of the largest celebrations takes place in Sevilla (Seville) where the Dance of the Six takes place.
An elaborate and moving dance is performed by a 6 costumed boys and groups of minstrels walk around the streets playing music.
In Caceres the youngsters of the town dress in jewelled clothing and hold a representation of the Virgin Mary high in the air as they run through the streets to cheering and explosions.
This day is also a Spanish national holiday!
